Tamara and her family were at home in Kibbutz Mefalsim on October 7 when Hamas attacked. After evacuating to safety, they received essential support from the Fund for Victims of Terror.

On the morning of October 7, 2023, Tamara and her family were at home in Kibbutz Mefalsim in Central Israel when they heard the Color Red alerts begin to sound in the Kibbutz, indicating to residents to enter their safe rooms due to rocket fire. Not long after that, they began to hear gunshots outside and screaming in Arabic as a group of Hamas terrorists infiltrated the community. Fortunately, the Kibbutz’s emergency squad managed to protect the residents from the terrorists’ invasion.

By 5pm that day, the first residents began to leave the Kibbutz, including Tamara and her family, who evacuated to Herzliya. They promptly received support from The Jewish Agency’s Fund for Victims of Terror.

“The Fund for Victims of Terror provided immediate emergency grants and besides that, we also received rehabilitation grants to support our recovery process and therapy. And we are so appreciative of this support; it is not taken for granted,” shared Tamara.

The family is just one among the thousands of victims the Fund has helped since October 7, 2023, having distributed aid amounting to $24.1 million since then.
