Candace Kwinter began her career in the Financial Services Industry with the CIBC Bank in 1978 becoming a Branch Manager in 1984. After eleven years she left the Bank to pursue a life insurance and financial planning practice with Sun Life Financial Group and in 2001 she developed her own financial planning practice, Candace Kwinter Financial Services Ltd. After 40 years in the Financial Services industry, Candace sold her business in 2018 to devote her time to serving the Jewish Community as a volunteer.
Candace was the President of the North Shore Jewish Community Centre/Congregation Har El twice and she served on the Pacific Northwest Region and National Board of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Candace is the past chair of the Jewish Federation of Vancouver, the past chair of the IGEC (Israel & Global Engagement Committee) of Federation and a committee member of the Local Pacific Committee of CIJA (Centre for Israel & Jewish Affairs). In 2018 Candace was invited to The Jewish Agency for Israel as a Member of the Assembly serving on Board of Governors Committees.
Currently she is member of the Aliyah Committee, the Antisemitism Committee and the Unity of the Jewish People Committee. Two years ago, Candace was asked to serve as a Board Member on the national CIJA Board and the UIA Federations of Canada Board.
Additionally, Candace holds a position on the Investment Committee of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Vancouver and is a volunteer at CJPAC (Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee).
Candace is married to Alan Kwinter and they have four children and four grandchildren.
