Amigour is a Jewish Agency subsidiary company that provides quality housing to new immigrants, single parent families, and the elderly.

In July of 2014, Hamas fired rockets from Gaza that hit apartments in Netivot. Amidst the turmoil, The Jewish Agency’s sheltered housing company, Amigour, stood strong. Amigour is Israel’s second largest public housing group, with 7,500 vulnerable senior citizens as residents, many of whom are Holocaust survivors. Luckily the apartments were empty and nobody was injured.

During the following days, Amigour’s staff worked overtime to make sure the residents felt safe and secure. Not only did they replace whatever was missing in the bomb shelters, they also coordinated live music and dance performances, as well as cultural enrichment activities in fortified shelters to keep the residents occupied and calm.

From Amigour’s administration, to every level of their employees, The Jewish Agency family is proud to serve a population of tens of thousands during difficult times.
