Project HEART reaches out to Jewish Holocaust victims, and their heirs, and encourages them to submit claims regarding private property that was stolen, looted, or confiscated by the Nazis or Axis powers.
The program is a joint effort of the Government of Israel in cooperation with The Jewish Agency. To date, Project HEART has received over 175,000 questionnaires from victims and heirs, listing property stolen by the Nazis. In parallel, HEART has also identified hundreds of thousands of pieces of property that belonged to European Jews, and in many cases the names of the owners.
The information gathered with help of Project HEART, can help bring some justice to those who have been denied it.
