Kurt Rothschild is President of the Canadian Zionist Federation and Chairman of the Board and Co-President of Mercaz Olami - World Mizrachi.  He also serves on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Toronto, the United Israel Appeal of Toronto, Yeshiva University, Bar-Ilan University and Sha’are Zedek Hospital.

Born in Germany, Kurt Rothschild left for England as a youngster, where he was later interned along with thousands of other German Jews.  In  1940, he was sent to Canada.  He studied engineering at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and went on to establish a large national contracting firm in Toronto.

Kurt Rothschild was a member of the Jewish Agency’s Board of Governors from June 1998. He has recently become an Associate member of the Board.
