Last month, a special event was held to celebrate 25 years since the release of Natan Sharansky, Chair of the Jewish Agency from the soviet prison.
The ceremony was held at the Prime Minister's office with his presence, and the presence of many donors, board members and JAFI employees.
The Flowers of Ben Yakir Choir, led by the conductor Hanan Peled, was invited to perform for the honorable guests and they moved the audience with their singing. They received much praise, compliments and interest.
This is the thank you note that was sent to them from Mr. Sharansky:
"I wish to thank you for your beautiful singing and distinguished performance in the event held in the Prime Ministers office.
The event was moving and successful, and your singing as a choir brought a big light, and a special inspiration to our future as the Jewish People.
I would be happy to see you continue with your singing and your important musical work in the future, since in that way you light your way, and ours, to the future.
I thank you and wish you continued success in your musical path, and any path you may choose.
Sincerely,
Natan Sharansky
