Shalom everyone,
I wanted to update you that last week we hosted in our region the Metro West Taglit (Birthright) group.
The group that included 50 students between the ages 18-26 arrived to our area last Wednesday for half a day.
Together with our Youth Futures trustees they arrived at Alei-Negev, home for people with medium to sever disabilities that is located at Merhavim, and volunteered in painting the wooden fences that surround the village residents' homes.
Upon arrival the delegation received an overview of the region, the partnership, and Ale-Negev's unique goals. Following that they had a short tour in the village.
After the tour the group was divided into 4 smaller groups. The groups were assigned in various locations around the village and were escorted by the village's staff who took care of all their needs (including a shower to one of the girls who got paint all over her while painting)
After the work was done the delegation went to Ofakim where they experienced different options of restaurant and enjoyed some free time.
It was a great experience and a meaningful day for Ale-Negev staff and inhabitants and for the delegation that had only one single request before coming: to do something meaningful in the region.
Attached is a few pictures from the volunteering.
Have a great week
Tal Morag
