 The Subject is Charity

November 4, 2008 / 6 Cheshvan 5769

Jon Gurkoff, a donor from New Jersey and a member of the Alex Grass family of major contributors, visited Jewish Agency sites throughout Israel at the end of the October in the company of his wife and a pair of friends.

They visited the Alex Grass Community Center in Maalot and the kindergarten in Safed, where they inaugurated two playgrounds.  Both projects were erected via the Israel Education Foundation of the Jewish Agency.

On October 26,  they visited the absorption center in Mevasseret Zion, toured the ulpan, a model store, and a kindergarten.  Charity is the subject currently being studied at the kindergarten, an issue dear to the hearts of the Gurkoff-Grass family.  All the donors made a token donation to the charity box, to serve as a model for the children..

The visitors were strongly impressed by the progress made by the children who have been in Israel and the absorption center for only half a year.
