Volunteers

General Explanation

We invite you to take a significant and active role in the municipal-community absorption structure. Through the At Home-Together Program you will have the opportunity to meet new people and experience different cultures. As part of the Friends circle you will be able to impact the life of a new immigrant and to help pave his way in Israel.

Through this program you will serve as a cultural bridge for a new immigrant and help him become familiar with and integrate into Israeli society. We invite you to become a partner in this success and to contribute in this way to your community.

Take the opportunity to redefine Zionism for 2010 and to become part of this experience.

We believe that the added value of your and your family’s personal involvement with new immigrants as they acclimate and find their place in society will strongly influence their absorption process and the ease in which they form their social network. It is these things that make a marked difference in how people feel and ensure that they will be inclined to stay in Israel as well as encourage others to join them.

The At Home-Together program organizes volunteers and assists new immigrants from all over the world in integrating more successfully into Israel. The assistance is in various life areas such as employment, housing, education and community and is carried out by volunteers. The program operates throughout the country.

The staff of At Home-Together coordinators is responsible for training the volunteers and running the program. They offer professional support, direction and guidance to the volunteers.

There are various functions or roles volunteers may fill, they include becoming an – Absorption Friend, Employment Mentor, Specialized Volunteer or Accompanying Family.
