The Jewish Agency continues aid operations to victims of the Carmel fire, providing essential support to populations affected by the devastation.
The fire that raged through the north of Israel claimed the lives of 45 people, forced thousands to evacuate their homes and destroyed tens of thousands of dunam of natural forest.
In response to the devastating blaze on the Carmel, the Jewish Agency immediately implemented respite activities for nearly 4500 children and youth whose lives were disrupted by the evacuations.
However, the long-term healing must continue. The Jewish Agency is working with the Government of Israel the municipalities, Jewish Federations of North America, and Keren Hayesod to identify the victims' needs. In the coming days and months, the Jewish Agency is working towards providing assistance to families of those killed in the fires. We will also leverage our core competency in social activism to engage Israeli and overseas Jewish volunteers in the restoration of the forests and communities on the Carmel, and exploring our Youth Futures model into Tirat HaCarmel.
If you are capable of helping the evacuees and victims, please open your hearts and give what you can for this cause through the Jewish Agency today.
Thank you.
