150 Orthodox Rabbis from 37 Countries Conclude Conference on the Fire Ravaged Carmel Mountain

January 5, 2011 / 29 Tevet 5771

150 orthodox rabbis from 37 countries concluded their 3 day annual conference (organized by the World Zionist Organization) which opened on Monday in the Knesset on the fire ravaged Carmel Mountain on Wednesday, January 5th.

Rabbi Yechiel Wasserman, who heads the Center for Religious Affairs in the Diaspora of the World Zionist Organization which organized the conference, said that this year`s conference centered around the theme of "The Rabbi as an Advocate for Israel in his Community" due to the growing hostility against Israel in the world.

At Monday`s session in the Knesset the rabbis were addressed by Minister for Diaspora and Public Diplomacy, Yuli Edelstein and Deputy Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon.
