High School seniors visit: 10 Months after the murderous terror attack on their school, 12th grade students from the Ohr Torah school in Toulouse are visiting Israel at the initiative of the Jewish Agency for Israel. The students are accompanied by the wife of the principal, Mrs Yaffa Monsonego, who lost her daughter Miriam Hanna (8) in the attack. The students from Toulouse are joining around 900 12th grade students from 20 Jewish schools across France who are participating in the Jewish Agency’s educational project “High school seniors in Blue and White”. The program brings French Jewish teenagers to Israel to participate in educational tours.

The Toulouse students have so far toured the Galilee and the Golan Heights, visited high-tech companies in Haifa and learned about different study options in Israel. Tonight they are joining hundreds of other French Jewish students who are participating in the program for a Gala Event at the Jerusalem International Convention Centre. Chairperson of the Jewish agency for Israel, Natan Sharansky, who will be attending the event, said that “The arrival in Israel of these high school students is a massive demonstration of solidarity, which reflects the warm and special relationship between French Jewry and the State of Israel.”
