The Jewish Agency facilitates aliyah of 25 olim from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay on a plane that departed from Sao Paulo, Brazil, with special guest, President Shimon Peres. Peres accompanied the olim on his return to Israel after meetings in Latin America. The plane arrives in Israel on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
In 2009, about 1,200 new immigrants from Latin America will make aliyah to Israel under the auspices of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
