Mr. Yaron Shavit was elected in June 2010 to serve as the Chair of the Progressive Judaism in Israel.

Professionally, Mr. Shavit is a partner attorney in a Law firm located in Tel Aviv, Shenhav, Konforti Shavit  & Co. He is also the Director of the firm and responsible over all areas of commercial litigation, business law, computer law, intellectual property, tender law, corporation Law and hi-tech. He earned his bachelor's degree in law at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In addition, he has a master degree in Law from the Bar-Ilan University. He passes his training period at the Jerusalem District Court and at the Jerusalem District Attorney.

Mr. Shavit is a director in the Governmental Company for Developing the Dead Sea Shore, Sedom Region and Arad ltd. He is a member of the Zionist Executive. He is active and volunteers within the framework of his community in Mevaseret Zion, where he lives with his family.

He was born and raised in Hod Hasharon. Mr. Shavit is a reserved colonel. He continues his reserve duty within the IDF Operations Branch.

He is a Board member since June 2010.
