Debbie L Berman is the Chair of the Israel and Overseas Commission for the Jewish United Fund/ Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. She also is a member of the JUF/JF Overall Planning and Allocations Committee, the Leadership Development Advisory Committee and the Contributor Account Relations committee. She is the immediate past chair of the Kiev-Kehillah project and is a current committee member. She has served as a board member on the JUF/JF board where she was a vice chair.
Debbie has been active in the Jewish community for many years. Currently, she is a member of the Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League, serving as a judge for the First Amendment Contest and on the regional Civil Rights Executive Committee. She is the inaugural co-chair of the BBYO Chicago Area Friends and Alumni Network. She is a board member of Leadership Greater Chicago and a member of the Brandeis University Alumni Admissions Council. She is an alumnus of the National Young Leadership Cabinet and the Wexner Heritage Program.
Debbie is a graduate from Brandeis University, AB in Economics with high honors, summa cum laude and the Harvard Law School, JD, cum laude.
Debbie is a partner with the law firm of Jenner & Block LLP focusing her practice on complex commercial litigation. She is the Co-Chair of the Media and First Amendment Practice, Ms. Berman is a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice and the Trademark, Advertising and Unfair Competition Practice. She also is Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Associate Assignment Committee and Chair (Emeritus) of the Firm’s Women’s Forum Steering Committee.
She is a committee member since June 2012.
