Anita Fischer was born in Santiago, Chile where she resides with her three children and eleven grandchildren. She has been involved in Keren Hayesod and other Zionist Institutions since her youth, together with both her parents and her one sister.
Her current commitment to Keren Hayesod dates back to 1976, when she was a co-founder of Women’s Division Chile. She served as its President from 1990 until 1993. She was Vice-President of the General Campaign from 1994 until 1999. Subsequently she became President of Keren Hayesod Chile from 2000 until 2002. That year she became a recipient of the Yakir Keren Hayesod Award. Since then she has been Vice-President of Keren Hayesod Chile.
Anita Fischer is fluent in Spanish, English and French; and also speaks Italian, Yidish and Hebrew. She served as a Committee Member from December 2005 through June 2007. Since than, she is a Board Member.
